Organizza un VIDEO WORKSHOP di antropologia visuale della durata di 7 giorni dal 7 al 13 settembre 2012 presso l’ Istituto Superiore Etnografico della Sardegna a Nuoro
Il workshop prevede insegnamenti pratici di base nell’uso del video e discussioni teoriche su come esso possa essere usato nell’ambito di ricerche e pubblicazioni in antropologia e discipline connesse. Sarà dato maggior rilievo all’aspetto concettuale piuttosto che a quello operativo.
Il workshop sarà intensivo, le sessioni mattutine saranno riservate di norma a lezioni di gruppo, proiezioni e discussioni, mentre quelle pomeridiane ad esercitazioni pratiche individuali da svolgersi a Nuoro e nei dintorni. Il workshop non prevede approfondimenti specifici sul montaggio video, tuttavia sarà usato un approccio funzionale alla ripresa e all’editing in the camera così che gli studenti imparino a produrre materiali che possano realmente essere montati.

In collaboration with David and Judith MacDougall from the Research School of
Humanities & the Arts, Australian National University
will offer a 7-day VIDEO WORKSHOP IN VISUAL ANTHROPOLOGY
7-13 September 2012 at the Istituto Superiore Etnografico della Sardegna in
Nuoro, Sardegna (Italy)
The workshop will include basic video training and theoretical discussions of how video may be applied to research and publication in anthropology and related disciplines. The emphasis will be upon the conceptual rather than the technical side of video practice.
The workshop is intensive and will be conducted all day for each of the seven days, with morning sessions normally reserved for group instruction, screenings, and discussion, and the afternoons for individual practical exercises in and around Nuoro. Although the workshop will not provide direct instruction in video editing, it will make use of a strategic approach to filming and “editing in the camera” so that students will learn to produce materials that can be edited effectively.
